Our Purpose
St Catherine's Care Home is part of St Cuthberts Care, a charity working
for the common good by enabling people to develop to their personal potential.
St Catherine's is a purpose-built nursing and residential home conveniently situated on the West Road in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Although St Catherine's has a particular emphasis upon the Catholic faith, we welcome applications from people of all denominations. All residents are assured that they will be treated with respect and dignity and in accordance with their own preferences and needs.
We offer care and support to older men and women who are no longer able to live in their own homes and provide a quality service to those with social residential, nursing or EMI (elderly mentally infirm) needs. Our aim is to enable people to live as independently as possible by receiving support consistent with their abilities and needs and we encourage residents, wherever possible, to maintain their existing links with the community.
St Catherine's provides permanent placements but can also offer respite care to those who require temporary support, perhaps whilst recovering from an illness or when carers are away. We will accept emergency referrals once we are sure that we can meet the needs of the individual.
