Our Work
Support Us
Whilst we would not turn anyone away because of inability to pay, our resources are limited and we try to target them towards the most vulnerable. St Catherine's Care Home has a Hardship Fund, set up by St Cuthberts Care to support those least able to pay the full cost of their place. It is supported entirely by charitable donation.
If you would like to make a donation to help us meet the cost of providing the best quality care for residents with limited means - or a donation towards any of St Cuthberts Care's services or projects there are several ways of doing so.
How to Make A Donation
You can make a donation by cheque, credit card or debit card. For more information, contact:
St Cuthberts Care, St Cuthberts House, West Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15 7PY
Telephone: 0191 228 0111 Fax:0191 228 0177
Email: enquiries@stcuthbertscare.org.uk
Donations can also be made via
Or you can make regular payments with a monthly Direct Debit. Download a form here.
Please remember.
If you are a UK tax payer you can Gift Aid your donation. This means we can claim an extra 25p from HM Revenue and Customs for every £1 you give - at no cost to yourself. Contact us for details.
Remember us in your will
Not something most people think about, but legacies help secure the future of the charity, allowing forward planning for long-term projects - and they are a way you can make a donation without affecting your current financial commitments.
If you would like more information on legacies, you can download our leaflet.

Fundraise for us
Race nights, pub quizzes, sponsored activities and raffles. If you would like some ideas, contact us to find out what our supporters have done in the past.
Come along to our events
If you are not the type to organise events yourself, you can always come along to ours. We have a number of events throughout the year which we announce well in advance on our website and through schools and parishes in the region. Everyone is welcome.
Become a volunteer
We value the support of our volunteers and take care to match them with projects which suit their personal skills and interests. You could help on our 5p Bus, collecting, sorting or distributing clothes. Perhaps you could read to residents in our nursing home; help with outings for the disabled, children, or older people in our care; or help out in Browne's Cafe at the Alan Shearer Centre. We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.
You can download an application form here and apply to join our volunteers.
Join our mailing list
We like to stay in touch with our supporters and keep them informed about events, appeals and our work throughout the year. By maintaining an up to date database, we can keep costs down by only mailing people interested in hearing from us - or by sending information by email rather than post.
If you would like to become a regular supporter, join our database by emailing us at: enquiries@stcuthbertscare.org.uk
